|
i am building a custom 45cal 1911 like the one used by agent 47 in the hitman games. the "Baller" is a refrence to the AMT Hardballer a 1911 clone. I am using an Essex Frame wth a bottom frame rail for a laser. so far i have ordered the lower frame reciever set me back 260.00 buckaroos its alot cheaper building killer weapons in the game lol. I will put up some pics when it comes in and I will take advise about what parts to use i have decided i would not go with the long slide but anything else is fair game i even found a guy on ebay making 1911 grips with hitman carved into them and airbrushed agent 47 on them. |

My frame and slide and all components are going to be stainless steel mainly for 2 reasons. When you add things and customize a 1911 you are oftin removing a litle material here and there to make the fit perfect. With nickle or a parkerized finish or even blued for that matter you have to re finish the gun each time. but with stainless steel you can polish it to a hard chrome like shine using a buffer and some metal polish. I have ordered all th pins and springs for the frame they are all "Wilson Combat" brand. from what i can gather from the internet they are the best ones out there and an assembled gun like the one im making from them is around the 4000.00 mark that is if you buy it from them all put togther, but who would want to do that....lol I hope to have pictures up soon of the frame. |

Im going with either Micarta grips which are made by layering resin and canvas like paper mache untill its rock hard then its carved like wood it makes an almost industructible and cool looking surface for a pistol grip or i could go with real carbon fibre ones but the real carbon fiber ones are like 70 bucks more then the micarta and the micarta looks cool too i think the ones used in the game were probably micarta.... any thoughts i know im going with black grips since the pistol will be high polished stainless steel for that agent 47 kick a** look. |

Carbon fiber would be pointless, since the gun is stainless steel, after all.. If they're both black I'd go with the cheaper of the two.
I'm looking forward to seeing this when it's finished! |

My frame came in thursday and Im very impressed and so was every guy in the store i went with a ferrari of a frame so that everything would work right the first time and last my lifetime. It is heavy duty milled and machiened stainless steel mde from a single block of high grade steel. it takes 3 days of work to produce a single frame so the cost factor is reflective of that. It has a ingagral light rail milled into the front of the lower of the reciecer. you can get mil spec or gi frames for 70 bucks that are not at all bad but this one is a work horse and all said and done came to $280.00 i ordered all the pins and springs from "Wilson Combat" ask Hots Bro about Wilson combat stuff he will know why I chose them. I also ordered a "WC" extended slide stop, Wide body single sided thumb safty ..."ambi safties are for amatures this gun will be for professionals". Also ordered a oversized mag release button that is checkered from "WC". I have decided to take Hots advice and go with Micarta grips over the fiber ones. On a more personal note I have changed occupations, I now work for Gander Mtn in the firearms department. here is a bug F YOU to my old boss I quit you bastard stop calling me begging me to come back. But the good news is I get 20% discount of gun stuff Pics of frame will be up later today!!!!! |

i know i know nothing about guns, but i'm glad you found something you enjoy doing (which we already knew) but can now make a career of it! congrats to you, CoLD! i hope school goes well for you, too. my boss has some pretty awesome guns. his grandfather made them.....like the whole thing. he made the springs, pins, everything. he did all the intricate artwork details on them. they are pretty awesome. i have pics on my phone, but they aren't good. i'll show them to you next time we see you guys. one has 4 barrels!! and they spin. i'm fascinated!! haha! |

the preceding pics are poor quality I apologize I spent about 3 hours on the trigger job so far its getting to be like glass. I have fully de-burred the frame and its ready to be polished. and the pile of parts is stacking. A gun shop worker whom i showed my project to on Saturday said it will be worth approx $3500-$4000 when finished making it the most expensive gun I own. this of course depends on the fit and finish of the project but he said with the components I'm using its going to be as good or better then any Kimber out there. I think Agent 47 would be proud. |

Don't forget about me in your plans! I want the 2nd off the line! That looks like it'll be pretty nice. What do you do to have to get the slide that matches that lower? Are you making that too? |

you have to spend about 3-5 hours on average to fit the slide to the frame I am going to get an essex slide because i was so impressed with the frame. the fitting process in a nut shell uses a specialized vice jig and some milling equiptment to squeeze the slide and then you use some putty to mark the exact contact points and then very slowly remove microscopic material to make it tight but loose enough to work its a deilcate ballance and by far the most tricky part of the build. I have a ton more parts now and its really starting to come togther i fitted the safties and slide release and i put on the main spring housing. I spent many hours as a certain jewlers shop polishing and working the parts. turns out after seeing my project he went nuts and wants the 3rd one I build I have to build 2 for school so mabye these guys that want them can sponsor the school projects and end up with kick a** 3k guns for 700 or less I have to saw this is one of the most rewarding things I have ever done... Wilson combat gaurentees 1 inch at 50 yards i want to match that preformance and seeing how im using all their components i feel that is a good benchmark to shoot for no pun intended. |
