Since Dropbox's launch six years ago, the company has carved out a niche for itself as the parking spot for everything that you want to save and share. Dropbox now has 175 million users, and this week, at San Francisco's Fort Mason, the company is hosting its first-ever developer conference. The maker of the magic folder is only starting to matter to software developers. Dropbox expects just 500 to attend this week's event. But it wants to give them something they've not had before: an easy way to retrieve and attach documents from the cloud, but also a way to save data about their programs -- something a little bit like the Windows Registry or Macintosh Preferences systems on a PC. <div class='mf-viral'><table border='0'><tr><td valign='middle'>     </td></tr></table></div><br/><br/>
